Harkness Roses supports the UK Rose Trade in creating the new quality standard for roses to guide consumers a roses.
The Gold Standard programme is independently managed by the National Institute of Agricultural Botany (NIAB), in Cambridge. NlAB's professional expertise in evaluating plants produces unbiased results that can be trusted.
To achieve Gold Standard certification, performance of the roses is measured by NIAB over two years, (three years for climbing roses). Roses that meet the required level are certified 'Gold Standard' and may be sold using the logo. The intention is that the logo becomes a recognised quality norm, to be used nation-wide.
