UK Rose of the year and All American Rose Selection for this superlative variety are accolades well earned by Tom Carruth, rose breeder at Week's Roses in California. The blooms are attractively ruffled with plenty of petals, carried in well filled clusters of butter yellow. They release an agreeable liquorice-based perfume, a treat either in the summer garden, or for scenting a room. Growth is wonderfully even, it's rare to see a "runner" burst through the canopy to spoil the regular habit. Foliage is lustrous and abundant, and as required from award-winning roses, disease tolerance is remarkably good. "Absolutely Fabulous" should become an automatic choice for any group planting situation, and for container gardening.
