Iridescent is the word to start to describe the colour. Such a bright vermilion scarlet. The bud is long and pointed which opens as a perfectly formed HT high centred bloom, but as there are only 15 petals the flower won't last as long as some others. The young leaf is dark maroon, maturing into a deep green leaf. Plants that are short and sturdy hold the flowers so they are always looking up at us. Use in beds, borders or large pots.
