Philip Harkness: "I love roses for the beautiful colours and perfumes. All of the rose varieties I have selected for the Masterpiece Collection ® are strong, healthy and easy to grow in any garden".
Along with the rest of the world, the team at Harkness Roses have been shocked and dismayed to see what is happening in Ukraine.
In order to show solidarity to the people of Ukraine, we are donating 100% of the sales proceeds of the Peace Rose in the month of March to Charities directly supporting the people of Ukraine at this most difficult of times.
The Peace rose named in 1945 to mark the end of World War II. At the inaugural meeting of the United Nations that was held in San Francisco in late 1945, Peace Roses were handed out to each of the delegations with a note that read -
“We hope the ‘Peace’ rose will influence men’s thoughts for everlasting World Peace”.
The yellow rose is representative of friendship and joy, and we hope our small gesture will help the people of Ukraine feel the extended arm of friendship from across the continent.
