‘Little Sid’ Charity Rose Launched By Harkness Roses

We are immensely proud and excited about the release of a beautiful new charity rose alongside well-known celebrity presenter Gregg Wallace.

Little Sid’ is a beautiful patio rose that bursts to life from spring to autumn as an abundance of blooms emerge from a short and bushy plant of glossy, green foliage. Light red petals deepen to ruby at the centre of each rose.

This rose is named after Gregg’s son Sid and is available to purchase now. As young Sid is autistic and non-verbal, Gregg has joined forces with us to launch this rose in a bid to raise funds and awareness of the vital charitable work carried out by Ambitious about Autism.

On the launch of the rose, Gregg, who is also an ambassador for Ambitious about Autism, said: “Raising an autistic child has many challenges but also great joys, as other families with lived experience will know. Anna and I are very proud of our wonderful son Sid and this rose is a celebration of him and all autistic young people.

“I hope it will help to increase understanding and acceptance of autism. The fact that donations will enable the Ambitious about Autism charity to support more autistic children and young people is incredible.”

The ‘Little Sid’ rose is a great problem-solver for anybody who would like to encourage more wildlife into their garden, as the blooms attract bees and butterflies.

Also, do not feel stuck for garden locations to plant, as this rose looks remarkable whether used to fill beds or borders, or to decorate pots or containers.

The ‘Little Sid’ rose is available to purchase now as either a bare root or in a 3-4L pot. For each rose sold, a donation of £5 is given to Ambitious about Autism (registered charity no. 1063184.)

This national charity runs specialist schools and colleges for autistic children and young people in London and the South East of England.
