We are fast approaching the hectic season for Bare Root despatch. This season we will be just over two weeks later than usual before we start digging our Roses from the fields. The reason for this is the weather we have had this season. We had a slow and late spring, and consequently the roses are maturing slightly later this autumn than is usual. They have really benefitted from the mild and sunny early October. We do think it is important to care for our Roses according to the conditions, and not be dictated to by pre set human deadlines and dates. This is important if we are to maintain a high quality plant.
When you order Bare Root Roses they are ideal for planting between the end of October and March. Orders placed now wil be despatched during November. Our Roses look to be very good quality this season. I always encourage the planting of Bare Root Roses, it is planting at natures natural time and is by far the most eco friendly way of planting, as the Roses don't have platic pots or compost, it is very easy and successful.
