When you place your order on the Harkness web site for potted roses, we supply our top-quality roses, growing in specially formulated potting compost containing a slow-release fertilizer to feed them throughout the current season.
We don't force the plants in a protected environment so they will be fully hardy on delivery to you. For early season deliveries they will be in leaf or about to burst into leaf, later in the season they will be in bud or in bloom. All the pot grown roses we supply with the exception of Ramblers and a few Shrub Roses) will flower in the first season. |

The Harkness Rose Centre is part of the Hitchin Garden Centre, (formerly Wyevale), and access is via the Garden Centre entrance. There are many facilities on site, including a restaurant with a view over Hitchin, and a complete range of garden plants and gardening products. The Rose Centre is a fully equipped state-of-the-art nursery. It provides an ideal growing environment, and makes it easy to reach the roses for self-service. The roses are growing in 5.5 litre pots, allowing plenty of space for root-development, and so minimising stress, which encourages vigorous growth in the pot. When planted out in summer they make an immediate impression in the garden. |
