Born Free

Born Free ‘The Lion’ Rose

The Born Free Rose is a stunning floribunda shrub of vibrant apricot and orange tones. Launched to celebrate the 90th birthday of Virginia McKenna and the exceptional work of the Born Free Foundation.

This rose is the perfect colour to symbolise lions in the wild. It is a wonderful combination of old and new, reminiscent of traditional English roses with a strong perfume to match, yet this is a modern rose with incredible disease resistance, dense foliage, and an abundance of flowers.

The orange blooms are pure and sharp in colour, plentiful in quantity and have the most enchanting fragrance. Ideal for beds, borders, pots and containers.

£2.50 from every sale will be donated to the Born Free Foundation.

About the Born Free Foundation

We’re an animal charity that’s passionate about wild animal welfare and Compassionate Conservation. Founded by Virginia McKenna OBE, Will Travers OBE and Bill Travers MBE in 1984, we work tirelessly to stop the exploitation and suffering of individual animals living in captivity or in the wild.

From the start, we’ve campaigned for a future where animals and people can co-exist and where threatened and endangered species are protected for generations to come.

We love working with charities and good causes alike to help raise awareness and funds through the sale of our roses. The Born Free Lion Rose is part of our Masterpiece Collection®. Take a walk on the wild side and give this rose pride of place in your garden.
