A rose with real character and a beautiful backstory. 'Chawton Cottage' blends soft pearl-pink petals with a rich ruby centre. Inspired by Jane Austen's home, this rose brings literary charm, elegance and fragrance to summer gardens.
Its glossy dark foliage sets off the bi-tonal blooms perfectly. Once it gets going, the display lasts from summer into autumn. Plus, it produces a pleasant perfume that fills the air wherever planted to delight your garden guests.
This rose is named as a nod to Jane Austen, as 'Chawton Cottage' is a former home of the historic English novelist, which has now been turned into a museum all about her life. For every rose sold, we are proud to donate £2.50 to Jane Austen's House (Registered Charity no. 1156458).
It's a climber with strength, easy to train on trellises or walls, hardy in most soils and forgiving of variable conditions. Disease resistance is solid, and maintenance is straightforward.
Registered name: Harzimlet
Supplied freshly in a 4 litre pot, ready to be planted out.We always endeavour to provide beautifully formed plants; however, our roses will naturally start to lose their leaves from October to prepare for the colder months. Do not worry though, as they will flourish once again with leaves and buds in the spring. Please, make sure you consider the season when purchasing our remarkable roses for yourself or loved ones.
