'Cardinal de Richelieu' is a compact Gallica rose with velvety, deep purple blooms and near-thornless stems.

This classic old rose forms a tidy shrub around 1.2m tall, covered in fully double flowers up to 8cm wide. The petals are rich, velvety and luxurious, fading softly at the centre. Each bloom carries a gentle, refined fragrance.
