Description

A remarkable variety of China Rose, flowering for months and constantly shifting colour through the season. Certainly something different for your garden, with wispier growth than your classic shrub roses.

Each bloom of Rose 'Mutabilis' begins as a warm, orangey-yellow bud, opening into a soft pink flower before finally maturing to a rich crimson. Often, the plant can display multiple shades together - the effect is captivating.

'Mutabilis' flowers repeatedly from early summer until the first frosts. The single flowers are around 6cm wide, emerging from nearly thornless stems, which makes pruning and training painless. You can grow this variety as a wispy shrub in the border, or as climber up to 2m tall.

It's hardy, healthy and reliable, thriving in full sun and well-drained soil. A holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, confirming its excellence as a garden plant, and it's also recommended as a 'Plant for Pollinators', thanks to its open, nectar-rich blooms that attract bees and butterflies in abundance.

Supplied as a bare root rose, ready to plant.
