Few shrub roses offer the elegance, fragrance and reliability of 'Jacques Cartier'. This classic Old Rose, also known as 'Marchesa Boccella', enchants gardeners with big, ruffled flowers and an encapsulating fragrance.
Each bloom is large, fully double and densely packed with soft, ruffled petals in shades of rich rose-pink that fade to a lighter blush towards the edges. In the centre sits a button-eye, for a distinctive vintage look. The fragrance is strong, sweet and evocative, filling the garden air on warm summer days.
Compact, bushy growth makes this rose incredibly versatile, reaching about 90cm tall. It's ideal for mixed borders, rose beds or even large containers. The foliage is dark green and slightly leathery, creating a lush backdrop for a continuous show of flowers from summer to autumn.
