The 'Remembrance' Rose is a poignant gift for someone special. Named several years ago for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, this cheery rose has a colour evocative of the Flanders poppy.
This potted rose is beautifully presented by an expert member of our nursery team, gift wrapped in a brown hessian bag that fits neatly around the pot before being finished with an elegant green satin bow. A ready-made gift from the moment it arrives! With the wrapping already done to a professional standard, you needn't lift a finger!A bright scarlet red. It is widely planted in the continental war graves, where it has proved reliable and has a long flowering period and neat compact habit. A good rose to add a bright spark of colour. The leaf is glossy and mid green.
This rose was selected by the commission due to its low growing nature, so the blooms wouldn't obscure the inscriptions on the graves, while also flowering for a long period.
Launched at the Chelsea Flower Show in 1992, with thousands of bushes shipped to the battlefield cemeteries of Europe, North Africa and elsewhere that autumn.
Supplied as a gift wrapped, established rose in a 4 litre pot, wrapped in brown hessian with a green bow, ready to plant or gift.
We always endeavour to provide beautifully formed plants; however, our roses will naturally start to lose their leaves from October to prepare for the colder months. Do not worry though, as they will flourish once again with leaves and buds in the spring. Please make sure you consider the season when purchasing our remarkable roses for yourself or loved ones.
